Present: Alanna, Sue, Janet, Patric, Jen Malachini will also be attending.

We have some Teachers that are very interested in Assistive Technology who we will ask if they are interested also.

VISION: We will need to create a vision as a Team. I believe that AT and Augmentative communication can be a service we are able to utilize in the collaborative and work with the district AT staff. One goal will be for The LABBB AT team to do consultations.

We need to give staff more basic knowledge of computers such as using Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. We can do workshops on Professionals days, "Tech Day."

Friday or Wednesday afternoons work the best for future meetings.

At our next meeting we will invite a district AT staff person.

We all agree that we need to have a "Technology plan" going forward for purchasing hardware and software. We need to find resources for purchases such as Grants, Businesses that have larger turnover in computers that they can donate. LABBB has applied for a 501c3. This status helps us qualify for companies being able to donate directly to LABBB. It is also an incentive for them because they get a larger tax write off.

Patric has contacted Chris DeDee from Harvard Graduate School of Education. They are interested in doing research at LABBB. If you are interested in check out these links that Chris sent to me: EcoMUVE (http://www.ecomuve.org) and Virtual Performance Assessment (http://virtualassessment.org) progresses.

Sue, if you can list the on-line resources here that you suggested that would be great. I think this was one website you mentioned: teachingeverystudent.blogspot.com

Notes from EDTECH

"Off to a Good Start"

1. Wireless comes first (Need secure internet access)
2. Celebrate Learning not Technology (Target a single subject area. Fine tune and build Teacher confidence)
3. View Curriculum and Technology as a single initiative (Instead of simple setting up a wikie, focuse on how to deliver curriculum components using a wiki)
4. Train in Two Phases (Start in Spring after school is out, and reconvene in August before students return)
5. Shift ownership to end users.(Minimize demands on IT. Include self service help tools and tech coaches)
6. Select Hardware with wireless cards. (Think about using netbooks)
